- We try our best to stay on schedule, therefore it is important to be on time for your appointment.
- Orthodontic emergencies are our top priority. If you are in discomfort, please call us at (613) 440-6116 and we will do our best to see you in a timely fashion.
Diagnostic Records
Orthodontic diagnostic records are used by Dr. Cohen as a study aid in order to provide you with the best orthodontic treatment plan possible. Records typically consist of:
Extraoral (outside the mouth) and Intraoral (inside the mouth) Photos – Photos of your face and teeth are used to study your orthodontic conditions such as crowding, spacing, and overbite.
Panoramic X-Ray – This x-ray is used to see the developing teeth, and predict where and when they will erupt into the mouth. If you are experiencing a delay in the eruption of your teeth, you may require this x-ray in order to rule out missing or impacted teeth. Adults that are considering orthodontic treatment will typically have this x-ray taken to see the current health and level of the jaw bone.
Cephalometric X-Ray – This x-ray captures your side profile, from the top of your head to just below the tip of the chin. It includes the teeth, jawbones, and soft tissues which helps the Dr. Cohen predict how the jaw bone structure will change during growth and orthodontic treatment.
Digital Models – These models are used to obtain an accurate replica of your mouth to study the current position of your teeth, and predict the future relationship between your upper and lower teeth as a result of Orthodontic treatment.
Treatment
The information you will receive consists of a comprehensive treatment plan, financial contract and an informed consent form. We ask that you please read all of this carefully before starting treatment.
- We ask that you follow all Orthodontic treatment recommendations made by Dr. Cohen and the Braces Haven team for the best possible results.
- Most importantly – Have FUN!
Finances
At Braces Haven, we believe that finances should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Our priority is to make Orthodontic treatment accessible to everyone and we are pleased to offer a payment plan that fits your budget.
Typically, treatment contracts are divided into monthly payments, not per visit charges. We accept post-dated cheques or pre-authorized bank withdrawals for the monthly payments.
Insurance
We are not able to assign direct billing on your behalf. To determine your orthodontic coverage, please call your insurance company. Our office will provide you with an Orthodontics Standard Information Form, approved by the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, for you to submit to your insurance company.
Once approved by your insurance company, you do not need any other forms from our office. Each time you make a payment to our office, we will provide you with a receipt. Attach the receipt to one of your Dental Claim Forms and submit it to your insurance company. Our office does not need to complete the Dental Claim Form and no codes are required for any orthodontic claim. The insurance company will reimburse you directly.
